Summer 2026 ECHO Interpreter Program

 Summer 2026 ECHO Interpreter Program is a 9-week immersive experience designed for undergraduate, gap year, and post-baccalaureate pre-health students.


ECHO is a student-run free clinic in the Bronx, NY, dedicated to serving uninsured patients. This program offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Enhance medical Spanish skills through real patient–doctor interactions.
  • Connect with current medical students and gain insights into the operations of a student-run clinic.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the health and well-being of the community.
Program Details:
  • When: Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, from June 6 to August 8, 2026 (closed July 4)
  • Volunteers will be assigned 3–4 shifts during the term.
  • Requirements: Fluency in Spanish; volunteers will interpret patient–doctor interactions in both English and Spanish.
  • Format: Fully in-person at our Bronx clinic

Einstein Community Health Outreach (ECHO) Summer Interpreter Program APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS



Deadline: Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at 11:59 PM

The Summer Term will run from June 6 to August 8, 2026. The clinic will be closed on 7/4.


Application instructions:

Complete the following IFH (Institute for Family Health) forms:

1. Intern and Volunteer Application

2. AHEC Evaluation Form

3. VAS Form

4. ID Form

5. Read the Human Resources Policy Packet and complete the HR Policies Certification Form


Return all forms compiled in a single PDF document by email to echointerpreters@gmail.com by Tuesday, April 7th, 2026.

Rename the form in the following manner:

FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME_ECHO_YEAR (e.g. ELIZA_GOMEZ_ECHO_2026)

Complete the ECHO Pre-Health Interpreter 2026 Application via Google Form by Tuesday, April 7th , 2026.


Schedule a 15-minute interview with the Interpreter Coordinator for the team to learn more about your Spanish-speaking skills for the volunteer role. Here is the Calendly Link. This interview will take place on April 10th, 11th, 13th or 14th.

Return all forms compiled in a single PDF document by email to echointerpreters@gmail.com by May 15, 2026.

Mandatory 3-day training will be tentatively scheduled for mid to late May. Please make a note in your calendars.
