The National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) will be hosting a virtual pre-health conference on Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 12 PM to 6 PM Eastern Time. This event is open to all college students! We will focus on medicine, dentistry, nursing, MPH, and graduate science research. Students will be able to hear from speakers, network with current health professional students and recruiters. We are also working together to set up times for students to do mock interviews or get their personal statements be reviewed.

It's a weekly live webinar about a high yield MCAT topic. It's short, sweet, and packed with valuable insight into both the topic at hand and how it's tested on the MCAT. While we are in the process of developing these materials, we are offering the webinar for free. 2021 Committee Application Open

Students and alumnae are eligible to participate in order to receive a Committee Letter of Evaluation from Barnard. Family Translational Research Group: Externship Opportunity
The FTRG conducts research on a wide variety of cutting edge topics ranging from (a) how anger, conflict, and family violence affect children's and adults' psychological and physical functioning to (b) defining maltreatment in ways that can be reliably used by field workers to (c) understanding how couples' conflict dynamics relate to violence to (d) furthering our understanding of risk and protective factors for child maltreatment and partner abuse.

Info Session: Summer 2021 Health Internships at Columbia University Medical Center
The Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physician and Surgeons hosts several summer health programs for undergraduate college students. We will be hosting a virtual information session on Friday, December 4th at 2pm. Students from all majors who are interested in pursuing any health related careers are highly encouraged to join. During the session, we will review the following summer programs:

QSURE Summer Internship Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering
The Quantitative Sciences Undergraduate Research Experience (QSURE) internship program is designed for motivated undergraduate students with a passion for quantitative science. Each student will be paired with an expert mentor to work on an individual, data-driven research project that aims to answer pressing questions in cancer. The program will provide hands-on skills in biostatistics, epidemiology, health outcomes, and/or computational oncology.
