Event: Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Impressions Program

Hello! We would like to invite you to this year's Student National Dental Association's (SNDA) Spring Impressions Program with Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Usually, this program is held online, however due to the current pandemic, we will be hosting this event virtually through Zoom.  This unique opportunity offers a fun and interactive day with current dental students and dental faculty members. If you are interested in exploring the field of dentistry and/or learning how to apply to dental school, then the Impressions Program is perfect for you!  

Participants will be able to hear about the lives of current dental students, learn about the application and interview processes, and ask any questions about dentistry and dental school at large. The Armed Forces will also present on scholarship opportunities during and after dental school. Please join us for this fun-filled day! We will even be raffling off prizes including DAT Destroyer Books and a DAT Bootcamp Subscription discount.

This year, the program will be held on Saturday, May 22th from the hours of 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (EST). Zoom instructions as well as the link will be given when we are closer to the event.

Cambridge Coaching MCAT Webinar: Endocrine System (Part 1)

It's a weekly live webinar about a high yield MCAT topic. It's short, sweet, and packed with valuable insight into both the topic at hand and how it's tested on the MCAT. While we are in the process of developing these materials, we are offering the webinar for free. Consider yourself a pilot student for a future Cambridge Coaching MCAT course, or textbook, or self-study platform (only the future can tell). All we ask in exchange is that you keep coming, participate in Q & A, share your feedback, and let friends know about this resource. This webinar's topic will be Endocrine System for the MCAT (Part 1), and will take place Friday May 14 at 1pm EST.

Extended Deadline: Gerald E. Thomson Undergraduate Pre-medical Program

Commonly referred to as GET-UPP, the Gerald E. Thomson Undergraduate Pre-medical Program is a free pre-med mentorship program designed to supplement students’ academic trajectory as they pursue medical school admission. The program provides participants with opportunities to network with professionals in medical education and healthcare through mentorship sessions, lectures with clinical faculty, virtual shadowing activities, and medical school admissions representatives. The GET-UPP Program serves up to 50 pre-medical students from Columbia College, Barnard College, and undergraduate programs at the City Universities of New York.

Program activities for the 2021-2022 academic year will commence in late September. All 2020-2021 program activities have been hosted remotely and the program will continue in an all-virtual format until in-person activity is deemed feasible by university guidance.

Info Sessions: Georgetown's Special Master's Programs

Georgetown's Special Master's Program (SMP) for pre-medical students and the MS in Pharmacology program for pre-health and pre-PhD students have extended their application deadlines until July 1st, with admissions continuing on a rolling basis.

The SMP is designed for pre-medical students who need to improve their academics before (re-)applying to medical school.  SMP students take classes alongside the M1s at Georgetown's School of Medicine and are graded directly against them. MCAT is required for admission; minimum 505, average 510.  Average GPA is 3.2.  See our Physiology programs in comparison.

The MS in Pharmacology is headed by the director of GUSOM's pharmacology curriculum for M1s and M2s and is designed for strong science students interested in pursuing medical, dental, or pharmacy school, PhD programs in the biomedical sciences, or careers in biomedical research, biotech, or consulting.  Students can engage in a full year of lab research under the mentorship of a faculty member or choose from a variety of elective courses across the biomedical departments at Georgetown to tailor the degree to their interests.  MCAT/GRE is not required.  Average GPA is 3.5.
