Learn About MD/PhD and Biomedical PhD Programs

The AAMC Group on Research, Education, and Training (GREAT) Outreach Committee will host Virtual Q&A sessions focused on biomedical graduate and MD-PhD programs on Sept. 21, 5 p.m. and Oct. 13, 4 p.m. (All times in ET). 

Students will be able to connect with program directors at institutions from across the country to learn more about biomedical graduate and MD-PhD programs and careers. This is an opportunity for students to practice their networking skills before Fall conferences. Attendees can bring questions and concerns to these interactive sessions. 

We'll be covering these topics for discussion: 

  • Writing strong personal statements
  • Obtaining great letters of recommendation Letters
  • What makes a school/program the best fit for YOU? 
  • What is best for you – a direct path to graduate school or a gap year? Direct to grad school or gap years?
  • Tips for acing your interview skills
  • MD-PhD programs

CUEMS Recruitment for Fall 2022

Are you interested in joining CUEMS? CUEMS is a student-run, volunteer ambulance providing FREE emergency medical care to Columbia University and the greater Morningside Heights area.

CUEMS will hold membership and sponsorship information sessions on September 6th and 7th in Hamilton 517 at 8:15 pm. We are excited to see you all there! Doors close at 8:15 pm sharp, so be there early as latecomers will not be allowed entry. Attendance will be recorded and is mandatory.


What is membership? If you are a certified EMT and have a valid driver's license, then you are eligible to join CUEMS as a member of the corps! Come to either information session to learn more.


What is sponsorship? If you would like to join CUEMS, but are not yet certified as an EMT, we sponsor a select number of students to take an EMT certification class for free! Come to either information session to learn more.
