Introducing AdviseStream!

Introducing AdviseStream

IT'S HERE!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of AdviseStream to help guide and support all pre-health students at Barnard

What is AdviseStream?
AdviseStream is a comprehensive advising platform that provides guidance and analytical tools to help you prepare your application to health professional schools. AdviseStream calendars, planners, access to school information, and organization tools that help streamline and simplify the application process. It's very cool! Watch this short clip.

How does it affect me?
This spring, we will be primarily utilizing AdviseStream’s Letters of Evaluation and Committee Letter planners to support our Cycle 2016 application process. However, all pre-health students will eventually utilize and therefore benefit from the system.

How do I access AdviseStream?
All Cycle 2016 applicants will receive an email directly from AdviseStream inviting you to the system. If you are not participating in Cycle 2016 but are eager to check out the system, please feel free to email prehealthadvising@barnard.edu to request an account.

What do I need to do now?
For ALL Cycle 2016 Applicants: In order to receive a Committee Interview and Letter, both first-time applicants and re-applicants will be required to use AdviseStream. Cycle 2016 Applicants: Look out for an invitation in your email.

When do I need to complete these steps by?
The deadline to request a Committee Letter (Steps 1-3) must be completed by Friday, April 1st at 11:59pm.  We anticipate this process will take approximately 15-30 minutes.

The deadline to finalize your Letters of Evaluation list and have your letters received is May 25th, 2016

What resources are available to help me?
We will provide step-by-step guidelines and screen shots to support you through the process. You can also utilize the support tab on any screen in AdviseStream if you encounter any issues. Or you can contact our office and we will assist you!

Are you having a demonstration of the new software?
Yes! We are hosting a live webinar this coming Monday, March 28th at 6:40pm, immediately following the personal statement workshop. Even if you aren't able to attend the personal statement workshop, you can still join the webinar from any computer, tablet or cellular device. We encourage you to join this 15-20 minute demonstration. We will walk you through the Committee Letter Request planner, show you how to request your Letters of Evaluation, and demonstrate some very cool features in the system. Click here to register.
