Dear Future MD,

The New York Medical College chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is proud to present a unique opportunity for students to gain more knowledge about the field of medicine through our annual “Medical Student for a Day” program. We pride our organization’s mission of academic excellence and community service, and one of our major goals is to provide support and opportunities to present and future underrepresented medical students. Through our programs, we want to encourage and inspire students to be brilliant, unique, competent, knowledgeable, and diverse contributors to the medical field.

"Medical Student for a Day” is a unique opportunity to experience the life of a medical student. This year’s program will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 9 AM - 3 PM (lunch will be provided). The tentative schedule for the day entails of talks with our very own deans on professionalism and success in medical school, and on how to be a competitive medical school applicant! In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to attend one of the medical student lectures, engage in a Question and Answer session with current medical students, and participate in medically/clinically related workshops. It will be a day where you get a firsthand look at the medical student perspective.
