University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship

The University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center (FCVC) is pleased to offer a 10-week Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) starting in May 2020 to support students interested in cardiovascular research.

Program Description
Each student will be matched, based on their interests, to a laboratory that is led by a FCVC faculty member. This collection of laboratories is involved in internationally recognized research in topics such as atherosclerosis, genetic cardiomyopathies, blood clotting disorders, cardiac arrhythmias, vascular biology, and heart failure.  The stipend will be $4,000 for ten weeks of full-time work, starting the Tuesday after Memorial Day and ending the first week of August. The program includes scientific seminars, social events, and a two-day research symposium where fellows present their research to their peers and FCVC faculty and staff.

Diversity Recruitment Day at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School

Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School invites prospective students to apply to participate in their annual Diversity Recruitment Day! DR. Day is a program dedicated to recruit and prepare underrepresented students as well as students who have educational and economic barriers for medical school. 


The aim of DR. Day is to expose pre-medical students to what Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School can offer and to further the mission of diversity and inclusion on our campus. Preference will be given to pre-medical and non-traditional students preparing to enter the 2019 application cycle, however we encourage everyone to apply! The program this year will be expanded to accommodate 80 students. 

Seminars will include:

  • About RWJMS: Curriculum, Admissions, Academic Support, Student Life
  • Advising Sessions with Admissions Counselors
  • Information Regarding Financial Aid
  • Multiple Mini Interview Practice
The event will be held on Saturday, November 2nd from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM on the RWJMS campus at 675 Hoes Lane West, Piscataway, NJ 08854. Registration is now open and the link is https://forms.gle/kYB7iJwaoZxLwdGX6. The application closes on October 16th.  Invitations to the selected participants will be sent by October 25th.
