NYU Clinical Volunteer Programs in Emergency Medicine

Looking for clinical opportunities in spring and summer 2024? Consider applying to volunteer programs at NYU like Project Healthcare and PAVERS.

Project Healthcare is an intensive summer volunteer program that allows participants to rotate through clinical areas of the Bellevue Hospital emergency departments and are paired with a resident mentor. PAVERS is a patient advocacy volunteer program that allows students to learn about medicine through observation in the emergency department during the academic year.

The Spring 2024 PAVERS application will open on October 1st, 2023, while the Summer 2024 application for Project Healthcare will open on November 1st, 2023. Check the links for more info and application deadlines!

Interested students are also welcome to attend NYU Langone’s Community Board Health Fair. This fair will be held at NYU Langone’s Manhattan Campus on October 14th, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and staff members for PAVERS and Project Healthcare will be on hand to answer questions.
UPDATED 10/11/23: The Community Board Health Fair has been cancelled, but students who have questions about Bellevue volunteer programs may email Dahlia Luongo dahlia.luongo@nyulangone.org.

You can also reach out to BellevueProjectHealthCare@nyulangone.org or Bellevuepavers@nyulangone.org with questions.

Be Part of PULSE: Physicians Unite to Lead Student Experiences

PULSE is a national non-profit organization dedicated to breaking down barriers to medical education for premed students. We believe in the power of mentorship, connecting aspiring medical professionals with experienced physicians. Our mission is to empower students from all walks of life, including first-generation college students, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ+ identifying students, and those from underserved areas or other marginalized groups.

The Opportunity:

Premed students will be matched with a physician mentor in their field of interest. The mentorship program offers flexible scheduling, allowing students to connect with their mentor virtually or in-person. Over the course of 3-4 months, students will have at least 3 facilitated sessions to learn about their mentor’s career journey and discuss relevant topics.
