Job Opportunity: Study Coordinator for Eating Disorder Research


Dr. Levinson, the Director of the Eating Anxiety Treatment (EAT) lab at the University of Louisville, is hiring a full time study coordinator to work on a National Institute of Mental Health supported study examining how eating disorder symptoms and physiology across time predict relapse and recovery. As part of this work, we are developing a multidisciplinary program with the engineering department and there will be many opportunities for cross-collaboration with our engineering colleagues. This position will involve working with clinical participants with eating disorders, running the day to day aspects of this study, working on grant proposals and publications, assisting with data preparation, assisting with institutional review board protocols, and working with a large interdisciplinary team both at UofL and with cross-site collaborators. The study coordinator will work very closely with Dr. Levinson on a day to day basis. 


Opportunities for involvement in publications and presentations at national conferences are plentiful. Minimum experience is a bachelors’ degree in either psychology, engineering, computer science or a related field. Research experience is a must. This position is ideal for someone wanting to go to graduate school in a health related field. This position is renewable for up to three years and preference will be given to a postbac who can commit to at least two years.

Job Opportunity: Study Coordinator

RESEARCH COORDINATOR position expected in the Psychiatry Department at the University of Michigan to work on the Neural Mechanisms of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD) Project (Dr. Anthony King, PhD Principal Investigator). The MBCT for PTSD project is a NIMH R61/R33 funded intervention study. The project tests how two different Mind-Body Therapies: MBCT & Progressive Muscular Relaxation (PMR) affect brain activity when used in the treatment of PTSD. We aim to recruit a diverse sample of females (with histories of interpersonal-trauma) and males (with histories of combat related-trauma) both in terms of SES and race/ethnicity.

The Research Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the project. They will be responsible for recruitment and scheduling of participants, managing undergraduate research assistants, preparation of IRB materials, data collection and maintaining study databases. There may also be opportunities to receive training on the administration of group interventions and formal clinical assessments with participants including diagnostic interviews.

Candidates should have a master's degree (preferred) or bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field and have related research experience. Competitive candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, and a proven ability to work independently. Job Opportunity: Research Coordinator, Psychology

RESEARCH COORDINATOR position is available in the Psychology Department and School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University to work on the NU site of the Mindfulness in Adolescence Project (Drs. Emma Adam and Richard Zinbarg, Principal Investigators at NU).  The Mindfulness in Adolescence Project is a NIMH R61/R33 funded prevention study (the second site is UCLA, Drs. Michelle Craske and Denise Chavira, Principal Investigators at UCLA; the third site is Vanderbilt University, Judy Garber, Principal Investigator).  The project tests the efficacy of an app-based mindfulness intervention that specifically targets skills for regulating negative affect in order to prevent anxiety, depression, and associated impairment in at-risk adolescents ages 12 to 16.  We aim to recruit a diverse sample of youth both in terms of SES and race/ethnicity.

The Research Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the project.  They will be responsible for recruitment and scheduling of participants, liasoning with schools, preparation of IRB materials, data collection and maintaining study databases.  There may also be opportunities to receive training on the administration of and to conduct formal assessments with participants including diagnostic interviews.
