Opportunity: Spring 2017 GET-UP Program at CPS

*Please email prehealthadvising@barnard.edu for an application*

The GET-UP Program is a free, year-long pre-medical mentorship program that is designed to supplement students’ academic trajectory as they pursue medical school admission. GET-UP Program participants will engage with a network of professionals in medical education and healthcare through mentorship sessions and shadowing experiences. In addition, students will be afforded opportunities to participate in a workshop series constructed to bolster their academic and professional skillset throughout college and medical school. Interactions with medical students and faculty as well as academic counseling sessions will also be incorporated in students’ program experience.

The GET-UP Program will serve up to 50 pre-medical students from Columbia College, Barnard College, and undergraduate programs at the City Universities of New York. Eligible students are US citizens or permanent residents, who have an over-all GPA of 2.75 or higher. Students must be able to attend program sessions on weekday evenings. For the spring 2017 semester the program will run from February until the end of May at Columbia University Medical Center. Participating students will receive free access to program resources.
