Opportunity: Soaringwords Virtual Internship

Since 2001, Soaringwords has hosted 225 bright, hard-working, enthusiastic, and talented interns,
including dozens from Columbia University and Barnard College.  You are invited to join us for an amazing VIRTUAL internship experience that will change many lives, including your own. You have the opportunity to be part of a successful and vibrant not-for-profit organization devoted to helping ill children and families. We have shared hands-on Soaringwords healing programs with more than 500,000 ill children, adults, and families who are grappling with serious illness and setbacks.

If you have passion, creativity, energy and the desire to make valuable contributions to a small team during your internship, then we want you to be a part of our success. See our Soaringwords Infographic!

Timing is everything:
As many undergraduate and graduate students have had to end their spring internships early and/or have lost their summer internships, we would like to offer the opportunity to begin an internship with
Soaringwords immediately, this summer, or this coming fall, all with the option to extend. Due to COVID-19, we are offering interns the opportunity to work on a project getting PPE supplies into the hands of healthcare organizations. For more information on this project, please see the section below on potential intern assignments.

About Soaringwords:
Soaringwords’ mission is to inspire ill children and their families to take active roles in self-healing. Each year, 22 million children in the U.S. suffer from chronic or serious illness. Soaringwords is unique, as it is the only organization to motivate ill children and families to “pay it forward” to help others. When a child does something kind for another child, it accelerates their transformative healing. Soaringwords' vision is to become the leading resource and destination for ill children and children with disabilities, their families, and their extended communities, helping them to realize that “the power to heal” already resides inside each of them.
