Hands of Hope AmeriCorps Members will work collaboratively with other AmeriCorps Members in the home to ensure that children’s physical, emotional, and mental needs are met. While the commitment to our organization is only one year, the impact AmeriCorps Members have on the children in their care is lifelong. In turn, the children’s strength, resilience, and love will also make a lifelong impact on them.

Job Opportunity: Research Assistant, CUMC Neurology Lab

The ADAPT lab (PI: Patrick Lao) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the department of Neurology is hiring a full time Research Assistant / Tech B. The candidate will work with the Department of Neurology, G.H. Sergievsky Center on clinical studies involving patients with Alzheimer’s disease, related disorders, and healthy volunteers. The Technician B will be assisting other lab members in conducting research participant visits, ensuring the appropriate reporting to regulatory boards such as the Institutional Review Board and the Food and Drug Administration. In addition, the candidate will be trained to process PET and MR images and will be assisting research staff in processing data for the lab studies. Bilingual (English and Spanish) applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Start date preferably in early June. Virtual Panel: Exploring Neurodiversity in Healthcare and Medicine

 Join Columbia University's Postbac Premed Student Council for a virtual panel on neurodiversity in Healthcare and Medicine on Sunday, March 3, at 3:00 PM. The panel is intended to start a conversation about the importance of increasing accessibility of medical education to neurodivergent students and how providers can better support neurodivergent patients in the delivery of care. If you're a pre-med student interested in research, come learn about the opportunities that are possible to conduct meaningful research in medical school! The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is a research powerhouse with great clinical training and welcomes applications from students residing outside of Pennsylvania. We are a part of the University of Pittsburgh’s PSTP, a 5-year medical school program that adds a year of basic or translational research to the regular Pitt Med experience.
