New Art & Service Experience at CU

Like art, culture, health? Care about the community outside Columbia and value friendships in different places?  The Research Cluster on Science and Subjectivity is delighted to announce a new art therapy volunteer opportunity at the historic Terence Cardinal Cooke Center, less than a mile away from Columbia’s campus.

This program is different from most. High quality art supplies will be provided for students to develop unique projects inspired by culture and the history of art. The residents that volunteers will be engaging with are HIV+ and in long-term care. Since many of residents are lifelong New Yorkers, this project will be an opportunity to get to know the city on a more personal level.

The goal is to generate positivity and bring together Columbia and the community. The desire to merge a love of art and service and general positivity are all that’s needed from a potential participant.

The group's first meeting will be Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 9:00 PM, Wien Main Lounge
