In my private practice the assistant will deal with both the administrative and clinical aspects of an OB/GYN practice on the Upper East Side. Some of the administrative responsibilities will include: answering phones, filing, making appointments, compiling patient charts, and filling out insurance forms.
The clinical experience will include: assisting with vital signs—height, weight, blood pressure, aiding in PAP smear and cervical culture collection, helping during physical exams, learning about normal and abnormal conditions, administering urine analysis and urine pregnancy tests, learning and discussing contraceptive management and the newest advances in cervical cancer screening.
The administrative assistant should have basic computer skills and be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel. We are looking for someone with people skills, and who is friendly, polite and responsible. We hope to find someone who is a quick-learner, highly independent, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced clinical setting.
