Job Opportunity: Research Coordinator, Psychology

RESEARCH COORDINATOR position is available in the Psychology Department and School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University to work on the NU site of the Mindfulness in Adolescence Project (Drs. Emma Adam and Richard Zinbarg, Principal Investigators at NU).  The Mindfulness in Adolescence Project is a NIMH R61/R33 funded prevention study (the second site is UCLA, Drs. Michelle Craske and Denise Chavira, Principal Investigators at UCLA; the third site is Vanderbilt University, Judy Garber, Principal Investigator).  The project tests the efficacy of an app-based mindfulness intervention that specifically targets skills for regulating negative affect in order to prevent anxiety, depression, and associated impairment in at-risk adolescents ages 12 to 16.  We aim to recruit a diverse sample of youth both in terms of SES and race/ethnicity.

The Research Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the project.  They will be responsible for recruitment and scheduling of participants, liasoning with schools, preparation of IRB materials, data collection and maintaining study databases.  There may also be opportunities to receive training on the administration of and to conduct formal assessments with participants including diagnostic interviews.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field and related research experience.  Competitive candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, and a proven ability to work independently.
