ASSOCIATE RESEARCHER POSITION IN IMMUNOLOGY
Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York City

Position Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated scientist to join the laboratory of Dr Maria Lafaille as an Associate Researcher at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr Lafaille’s work is focused on the immunology of allergic diseases. Her laboratory is part of the Immunology Institute and the Food Allergy Institute at Mount Sinai.

The responsibilities for this position include: ordering and organizing laboratory reagents and supplies, managing the mouse colony, performing routine laboratory tasks, assisting with experimental work, and participating in weekly group meetings. The candidate is expected to maintain updated and accurate laboratory records and assure compliance with institutional policies, including safety.

Qualifications:
Bachelor or Masters degree in Biology/Life Sciences with at least one year experience in an immunology laboratory including mouse colony maintenance and genotyping. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and excellent organizational skills. ASSOCIATE RESEARCHER POSITION IN HUMAN IMMUNOLOGY

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated scientist to join the laboratory of Dr Maria Lafaille as an Associate Researcher at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine to work on the study of human allergic diseases.

Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing and banking of human blood samples from allergic/atopic cohort studies, and for keeping updated and accurate records of banked samples. The candidate is also expected to participate in serological studies using ELISA, and to help with cell culture, flow cytometry and gene expression experiments. Other responsibilities will include ordering and organizing laboratory reagents and supplies for the project and performing some routine laboratory
tasks. The candidate is expected to attend weekly group meetings, and to present and discuss regularly the ongoing work.

Qualifications
The candidate should hold a Bachelor or equivalent degree in Biology/Life Sciences and have at least one year experience in biomedical research that includes harvesting/processing of mammalian cells. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and excellent organizational skills are required. Previous training in general immunology techniques, molecular biology, tissue culture and flow cytometry are a plus. The position can be part time or full time.
