Unpaid Research Opportunity: NYU Langone Medical Center

 Research Assistant

I am a Barnard alumna who is Chief of Headache Research at NYU Langone Medical Center. I run several studies and am looking for Barnard students with a strong passion for clinical research. Applicants should be excellent team players but should also be able to work well independently. They must be professional and be able to show empathy. The position will be full time over the summer (some nights and weekends will be expected of you) and will continue into the academic year for a minimum of 8 hours a week. The research is suited to those interested in neurology, psychiatry/psychology, and mHealth.
Full time over the summer with part-time extension into the year

Tour for Diversity in Medicine and the Post Baccalaureate Pre-Health Program at the College of Science and Technology, Temple University have partnered to provide a virtual event for students from diverse backgrounds interested in the health care professions and the advisors and mentors who support them.

This 3-evening (6-9 PM) event, February 2-4, 2021, will feature informational workshops with students, physicians and deans on topics such as critical test-taking strategies, the importance of mentorship, interview skills, and more. Speakers include T4D Mentors in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and optometry, as well as current and former CST post baccalaureate students and professional students. The final evening features a panel of admissions deans and directors from Philadelphia medical, dental, podiatry, and physician assistant schools. Special sessions will be announced for advisors and high school students.

National Hispanic Medical Association Virtual Prehealth Conference

The National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) will be hosting a virtual pre-health conference on Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 12 PM to 6 PM Eastern Time.  This event is open to all college students! We will focus on medicine, dentistry, nursing, MPH, and graduate science research.  Students will be able to hear from speakers, network with current health professional students and recruiters. We are also working together to set up times for students to do mock interviews or get their personal statements be reviewed.

2021 Committee Application Open

Prospective summer 2021 applicants to medical and dental schools are invited to begin the 2021 Committee Application. Students and alumnae are eligible to participate in order to receive a Committee Letter of Evaluation from Barnard. The application is live, and will be due on January 25, 2021 for first-time applicants. Prospective applicants should be sure to review the Committee Process Overview before beginning an application.
