Funded Summer Opportunities at Michigan Medicine

Michigan Health Sciences Summer Institute (MHSSI)
MHSSI consists of two pre-health programs. Applications are now open and will close this Friday, February 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST.

Career Development Academy (CDA)
This 10-week residential summer program provides 20 pre-medical students with housing at U-M Ann Arbor, meals, and a stipend as they participate in a rigorous MCAT preparation course. Students receive mentorship and coaching from current University of Michigan Medical School students, resources such as Princeton Review and UWorld, and AAMC practice exams.

Undergraduate Research Academy (URA)
This 10-week residential summer program provides 20 to 22 students with housing at U-M Ann Arbor, meals, and a stipend as they conduct faculty-mentored research alongside Michigan Medicine faculty. The program culminates in a hospital-wide research symposium and presentation.
