St. Francis Hospital Clinical Scholars Program

The Clinical Scholars Program aims to provide three paid research internships to recent college graduates who plan to pursue an advanced clinical degree in medicine (MD or DO) or biomedical research (PhD or dual-degree). Scholars selected for the program are paired with mentors who are active clinical/research physicians, epidemiologists, research coordinators, and other staff as part of a comprehensive research and clinical education curriculum. This full time, paid position focuses on research activities in cardiovascular medicine at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center along with significant opportunities for clinical shadowing. Scholars will learn from and collaborate with our research teams with opportunities to contribute to scientific publications, and attend national scientific meetings.

NYU Langone PrMEIR Scholars Summer Intensive Program

Summer scholars in NYU Langone’s Program for Medical Education Innovations and Research (PrMEIR) take part in an eight-week research-focused course. The program is open to students in college through graduate school. Participants take part in a series of weekly workshops over the course of a summer that provides a window into career paths in the healthcare industry. 

Participants are expected to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week to the program, which includes attending mandatory Monday meetings, a weekly team meeting, and at least one professional development workshop.

Each participant is assigned to a team that works together to develop and complete a final project. More information about each team is available on the program website.

How to Apply
Review the PrMEIR Scholars Summer Intensive Program (PSSIP) application and submit it with the following required materials:

  • personal statement that outlines your background and future aspirations, as well as your interest in the program

National Undergraduate Research Conference at Brown University 2026

The second annual National Undergraduate Research Conference at Brown University is scheduled for April 4th, 2026. Organizers are inviting projects from any STEM field, such as but not limited to those in biology, chemistry, physics, public health, engineering, clinical research, behavioral sciences, and computational applications. 

The conference will be hosted on Brown University's campus, bringing together 200 talented students from across the nation. This conference will serve as an opportunity to secure yourself a conference poster or oral presentation to demonstrate your research excellence. This year's keynote will feature Dr. Harvey Alter, the 2020 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine. Abstracts will be reviewed on a rolling basis with limited spots available (200 poster presentations and 20-30 oral presentations).

The early application deadline is January 21st, 2026 and the regular application deadline is February 21st, 2026.

Summer Research Opportunity: M-SURE

Michigan Summer Undergraduate Research Experience - Diabetes & Metabolic Diseases

The Department of Molecular & Integrative Physiology is pleased to host 18 undergraduate students for a 12-week program of summer research related to diabetes and metabolic diseases. Domestic and foreign students currently enrolled at a degree granting university or college are eligible to apply, with preference given to those undergraduates interested in a career in diabetes-related research. Funding is from the
NIH, Caswell Diabetes Institute, Taubman Institute, and the Michigan Nutrition and Obesity Research Center.

Each student will be matched, based on their interests and background, to a basic or clinical laboratory involved in nationally recognized research related to diabetes and diabetes-related complications such as insulin signaling and insulin resistance, adipocyte biology, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and neuronal control of food intake and energy expenditure.

There will be a research forum in which fellows will present their work, as well as a noon lecture series and research seminars.

The M-SURE program pays $7200 (pre-tax) for 12 weeks of fellowship. Further details and application materials are available from the fellowship link within the departmental website:

The Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC is looking to fill several full-time research positions at the Seaver Autism Center for Research and Treatment, run by renowned researchers in the field of autism. The Seaver Autism Center leads a progressive research program while providing comprehensive, personalized care to children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. Our multidisciplinary team of preclinical and clinical faculty seek to identify the causes of autism and advance effective treatments. Principal investigators include Drs. Alexander Kolevzon, Paige Siper, and Joseph Buxbaum.

We are looking for highly responsible, organized individuals who are interested in continuing to a medical, psychology, clinical genetics or professional clinical research career. Areas for which these individuals would be responsible include interacting with patients, families, and clinicians seeking our services; study initiation and management including regulatory (IRB), patient scheduling, data entry and biomarker (EEG, VEP, eye tracking) collection for a diverse portfolio of research studies; and assistance with grant preparation, presentations and publications. Our research coordinators have the opportunity to observe clinical and research assessments conducted by our interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, a neurologist and genetic counselor.

Interested applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree; be highly familiar and comfortable with widely available computer programs (i.e., Microsoft word, excel, powerpoint); have a strong background in psychology, biological sciences, and research design; have experience or interest working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders; have a strong interest in research and learning about etiology and the treatment of psychiatric disorders; and be able and willing to work with psychiatric patients in a professional and compassionate manner.

Summer Research: SUNY Upstate Medical University SURF

The Research Fellowship (SURF) programs are 10-weeks summer programs that would run from Monday, June 1 - Friday, August 7, 2026. The program offers participants a $6,200 stipend for the period along with free university housing. In addition to our traditional SURF program, we offer specialty SURF programs including SURF Physician-scientist program (SURF PS)SURF Cancer Research Program (SURF CR) and SURF Health Science Program (SURF HS). All of our summer programs end with an opportunity to present summer research at a poster symposium. Requirements 
Applicants to the program should be undergraduate students in good academic standing, who will be between their junior and senior years during the summer of 2026, and are majors in chemistry, biology, or a related field. Applicants must have a strong interest in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in biomedical research or one of the other degrees for the specific programs.  
 
Selection Criteria
The main criteria for the selection of fellows will be personal scholarship, academic excellence, and the match of applicant interests with those of participating SUNY Upstate Medical University biomedical faculty members. International students who currently have a J-1 or F-1 visa, and who are already attending school in the United States, are eligible to apply.

Job Opportunity: Research Technician, Weill Cornell Medicine

Research Technician, Jill Roberts Institute for Research in IBD, Weill Cornell Medicine

The Longman laboratory is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented and responsible team player to serve as a Research Technician. The primary focus of our lab is the regulation of the intestinal immune system by the microbiota and how we can understand these connections to improve intestinal disease.

The Technician will work with closely with post-doctoral fellows and graduate students in an exciting academic environment studying mucosal immunology and microbiome science using both mouse models and human samples.

The Technician will help to maintain the mouse colony, work closely with fellows and students to perform experiments, partner with the Live Cell Bank to process human intestinal samples, and support general lab maintenance.

Principal Responsibilities Include: Working with graduate students and post-doc to perform immune cells analysis in various models including flow cytometry and microscopy. Molecular biology including DNA and RNA isolation for sequence analysis. Basic microbiology and sterile cell culture. Performing basic mouse husbandry, such as setting up mating cages, pup checks, weaning mouse pups, ear tagging, isolating genomic DNA and running PCR for genotyping, maintaining accurate records of animal breeding, health, weaning etc using electronic mouse colony management software. General lab duties will include ordering, stocking and general lab organization and maintenance. Position will also require understanding of experimental techniques to support projects in the lab.

Salary Range: $22.11 to $28.79

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in animal handling and maintenance in a research lab.
  • B.S. in Biology or other related STEM field (or equivalent experience).
  • Understanding of mouse genetics, housing, husbandry and maintenance of genetically modified mouse lines.
  • Experience with molecular biology such as PCR.
  • Willing to learn new techniques with general instruction.
  • Able to take initiative, prioritize tasks, use good judgment, and monitor completion of assigned duties.
  • Ability to keep accurate records of work performed is essential.
  • Good analytical, organizational, communication and computer skills.
  • Able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally.
