A research technician position is available in the Sturley laboratory at the Barnard Biology Department for 1 to 2 years and is funded by an award to Dr. Sturley from the National Institutes of Health. The full time position involves the identification and testing of therapeutic compounds for the neurodegenerative disease Niemann Pick type C. This pediatric disorder is currently incurable. It involves aberrant cholesterol metabolism in the brain and resemble Alzheimers Disease in many ways, except that it primarily effects children. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
