The Binghamton Mood Disorders Institute at Binghamton University (mood.binghamton.edu) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to start as soon as July 1, 2019. This is a full-time grant-funded research assistant position to assist with an NIMH-funded study examining attentional biases and psychophysiological reactivity in 6-12 month old infants of depressed and nondepressed mothers. Duties will include coordinating participant recruitment, preparation of study materials, participant assessments, and database management. The research assistant will also have numerous opportunities to author and co-author journal articles from this and other studies. Salary will be $30,000 per year plus health insurance.
Qualifications include a BA/BS in psychology or related field. Successful candidates will demonstrate a conscientious work style and strong interpersonal skills. Candidates with prior experience working with infants are particularly encouraged to apply. Experience with eye tracking, ERPs, psychophysiological assessments (e.g., RSA), and/or structured diagnostic interviewing is ideal but not necessary. This is an excellent position for a college graduate who is interested in gaining additional research experience before going on to graduate study in clinical psychology.
