Columbia University Med School Fair: Additional Panels on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Financing Your Medical Education

On Saturday, April 2nd, Columbia University will be hosting a panel discussion on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Medical Education and Care. Students can register for this event here.
We will discuss admissions, student life, curriculum, and continuing improvement for our healthcare systems for all people with some leaders in medicine including:

  • Dr. Gary Butts - Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
    • Dean for Diversity Programs, Policy, and Community Affairs
    • Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the Mount Sinai Health System
  • Dr. Joy Deanna Howell - Weill Cornell Medical College
    • Assistant Dean for Diversity and Student Life at Weill Cornell Medicine
    • Vice Chair for Diversity in the Department of Pediatrics

  • Dr. Hilda Hutcherson - Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons

On Saturday, April 9th, there will be a panel discussion on Financing Your Medical Education. Students can register for this event here.

As a bonus event of the Columbia University 2022 Medical School Fair, we will be joined by Julie Gilbert of the AAMC, and Hospital Corpsman First Class David Kamaal of the US Navy. The two will share information on options for funding your medical education, as well as many resources for finding additional information and getting all of your questions on paying for medical school answered.

  • 11:20-11:40am ET: Presentation of Programs from Hospital Corpsman First Class David Kamaal (Field Medical Technician) of the United States Navy

  • 11:40am-12pm ET: Questions from Student Attendees
